COPS & ROBBERS

Learn what local police officers do on a daily basis, solve "crimes" at Camp Ketcha, use our ropes course to complete a “SWAT” obstacle course, have some target practice and visit a local police department.


ROPE & ROCK– TWO OFFERINGS!

Designed for adventurous campers who enjoy our ropes course, they work through team and individual challenges on high and low ropes, learn knot tying and how to belay fellow campers, review equipment safety and maintenance and improve teamwork and communication skills. Campers visit the Maine Rock Gym to climb.

 


GALAXY CAMP

Each camp day will focus on a new interactive activity.  The sun, the moon and the stars will be the theme for each day’s adventure.  Learn about our solar system through the Children’s Museum Starlab, try astronaut food and create your own solar system.  Includes a star gazing overnight at Camp Ketcha.

Tidepools, ocean life, sea creatures and more!  Explore local beaches, learn about marine mammals and visit the University of New England Marine Science Center. 

 

OUTDOOR SURVIVAL CAMP

Learn outdoor survival skills, make shelters that will withstand inclement weather, learn about edible plants, tracking and safety skills. Includes one overnight at Camp Ketcha.


PEDAL & PADDLE 
June 28-July 2

Designed to expand your camper’s cycling and canoeing skills. Campers bring their own bikes and learn basic bicycle mechanics and maintenance and then explore woods, fields and trails on their bikes. They also learn to steer and paddle a canoe around the pond. Campers take trips off-site to paddle local waterways and bike local trails. They need their own mountain bikes, helmets, and elbow and knee-pads. Camp Ketcha provides all canoeing equipment.

NOTE: No bikes are allowed on the buses. Bikes may be dropped off on Monday and picked up Friday afternoon.


WORLD OF WATER — TWO OFFERINGS!

Designed for campers who love being in the water. Campers will spend two days snorkeling with Paul Rollins, professional dive instructor. The first day will be instruction on using fins, goggles and snorkels. The second day will be spent snorkeling in our pond and pool. Campers will spend one day at a local water park, explore beaches, go canoeing and spend time on our property exploring the Scarborough Marsh.

Archery, riflery and paintball are all included in this fun and exciting camp. Campers will participate in activities here and take field trips off site. We will be visited by a firearms instructor with a local police department to discuss gun safety before participating in riflery.

WHITEWATER RAFTING & ROCK CLIMBING – NEW!
Ages 9-14
July 26-30/ Cost $415
Limited to 10
This program will start out on our high & low ropes course elements. Campers will go through belay instruction and learn how to belay their peer as well as learning to work as a team. Campers will spend the second day climbing in Biddeford. Campers will then travel to Northern Maine to rock climb & whitewater raft on the Kennebec River. Have fun and use your team skills negotiating the rapids. Includes overnights on Tuesday & Wednesday.
 
 
BRADBURY MOUNTAIN BIKING & OCEAN KAYAKING –NEW!
Ages 9-14
August 16-20/ Cost $375
Limited to 10
Campers will spend the first day at Ketcha mountain biking through our 133 acres and learning kayaking skills and safety. The second day will be spent mountain biking the trails at Bradbury Mountain and camping out at Ketcha. Campers will spend one day ocean kayaking with a Registered Maine Guide in Casco Bay and camping out on one of Maine’s beautiful islands.   Includes overnights on Tuesday and Wednesday. 
NOTE: Campers need their own mountain bikes, helmets, and elbow and knee-pads. 
No bikes are allowed on the buses. Bikes may be dropped off on Monday and picked up Friday afternoon. 
 
 
 
RUMNEY ROCK CLIMBING & HIKING –NEW!

July 12-16/ Cost $400
Limited to 10
This program will start out on our high & low ropes course elements. Campers will go through belay instruction and learn how to belay their peers. Then it’s off to Rumney, New Hampshire to spend two days rock climbing and hiking. Includes overnights Tuesday and Wednesday in New Hampshire. Campers will end the week by traveling to Biddeford for one more rock climbing adventure.
